==Time and Place of the Incident==
This incident took place in year 7 A.H. <ref name=":0">Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi, al-Maghazi Volume 2 Page 741</ref> However, there are no details as to the location in which this incident took place.

==The Background of the Conflict==
Ibn Abi al-Uja Salmi asked the Prophet to allow him to provide religious guidance to his tribe and convince them to accept the religion of Islam. After returning from the umrah, the Prophet sent 50 Muslims along with Salmi to invite Banu Salim to Islam. <ref name=":0" />
One of those accompanying Salmi was from his tribe of Banu Salim. When he became aware of the purpose of Salmi’s journey, he sped ahead to his tribe and warned them of Salmi’s coming and warned them against accepting Islam. <ref name=":0" /> The people of Salmi’s tribe had gathered in large numbers and thus, were fully prepared for the arrival of Salmi along with the group of Muslims who had accompanied him. Upon arrival, they rejected Salmi’s invitation and said that they had no need for Islam. <ref name=":0" />

==The Conflict==
The Muslims were then attacked with arrows and this attack continued until reinforcements arrived for Banu Salim, who then proceeded to encircle the Muslims and continue the attack. <ref name=":0" />
Eventually, a fierce battle took place in which all of the Muslims, except for Salmi, were killed. Salmi was heavily injured and had fallen to the ground. <ref name=":0" />

==The Outcome of this Incident==
The books of history do not narrate any form of retaliation from the side of the Prophet against the Banu Salim in relation to this incident.
